-Complaining is over-rated; instead of complaining, provide suggestions and then work towards making the situation better.

Make-up Work
Attendance to all classes is very important. Even though you receive the handouts or material we covered the day you were gone, you will have missed out on the discussions the class had that day. It is YOUR responsibility to come see me about the work you missed and to make up that work before the next class period; I will not come hunt you down! Because all of our work is done on a computer, making up missed work may require you to come in before / after school or during GTT if you do not have access to the Office programs at home. All missed handouts and work will be placed in your class’ corresponding folder on the “Make-up Work” board. As the handbook states, you have two calendar days for every day you are absent to make up the work.
Late Work
Late work will not be accepted! For any written assignment, it needs to be handed into the tray at the start of class. Even if you are not completely done with an assignment, you need to still hand in what you have done in order to receive partial credit. As long as you are using your time wisely, you should always have ample time to finish assignments. All computer assignments should have their files uploaded to the Google Classroom at the start of class on the due date.
Cell Phones
Cell phones should be placed in the holder at the front of the room at the start of class. Each day you place your cell phone within the holder you will earn extra credit points towards your Tests category. If you do not have a cell phone, you must place something of value within the holder and you must come speak with me within the next few days to discuss this. If you choose not to put your phone up and are caught in class on your cell phone, your phone will confiscated until the reminder of the day and you will lose any points accumulated thus far for that quarter.
The only other extra Credit given is in the form of unused bathroom/hall passes which are added to the Class work category.
Quizzes / Tests
There will be a few quizzes throughout this class, various ones being pop quizzes. The Computer Applications tests will always have two parts. One part will be solely on the computer where you will be showing me how to do the skills learned in that section or unit. The second part will be a written test. For the written test, you will need to be able to identify icons, to recognize and define terminology learned, and to explain the steps to perform the various skills learned. A study guide will always be provided for each test, and there will often be review games the class before a test.
Website
On my webpage, there is a page dedicated to this class. Informational handouts for all major assignments and projects, along with the rubrics the assignments / projects will be graded with, will be posted on the website as well as on our Google Classroom site. Study guides for tests will also be located on the website.
Within our Google Classroom, students will “turn in” their Microsoft Office assignments by attaching the files. All assignment details will also be uploaded here. If you are absent from class and have Internet access at home, you now have the opportunity to view what assignments you missed that day and are able to get a head start on your make-up work. This is not a requirement but is HIGHLY advised!!!
Other . . .
Book bags, including drawstring bags are not allowed in class and must remain in your lockers. If a purse is brought to class, it needs to remain on the floor as there is not much room on the tables between computers. Those who are consistently in their purses will have them placed in a designated location. You may listen to music while working on assignments/projects but SHOULD NOT spend all of your time finding the perfect song to listen to. If you are continually seen messing around for songs on music sites, those sites will be blocked from your computer and you will lose your privilege to listen to music while you work.
